16 months!!

On Febuary 14th (Valentines Day) Aidan turned 16 months. He keeps us on our toes and laughing on a daily basis. He brings so much joy to our lives, Craig and I are so blessed to have such a sweet and wonderful little boy.

He is getting into EVERYTHING around here! He loves all of the cooking utensils and pots/pans. His favorite show right now is Phineas & Ferb. He loves to dance. He loves to go for walks, and he loves people and does not hesitate to yell hi or hello to strangers in the stores, walking by, or anywhere else.

Aidan got this nice card from Nana/Grandpa Donahue, along with a little something to add to his savings account. He was really excited to play with his bank book. =)

Mommy and Daddy got Aidan this for Valentines Day. Aidan is loving things on the fridge, so we knew this would be a perfect gift! He loves it!

And Craig surprised me with a night out to the Ritz Carlton, and then on to "Dirty Dancing" the musical. We had so much fun, and it was really great to spend time alone with Craig. I can't remember the last time we got to do that.

Hard Workers

Aidan has really been trying to venture up the stairs lately, but since he does not know how to get back down, we bought gates to guard all stairs inside and outside.

Aidan and Craig got their tape measures and went to work measuring the gates, and trying to figure out where they will be installed.

Valentines Stuff

Here are some cute things I got this year at the Christmas Tree shop. I can not find my old valentines stuff, and it is driving me crazy! I have a cute wooden heart wreath, and some other things, but they are missing....

Sweet Treats

Last Friday Aidan and I made the trek to Michaels so we could pick up supplies to make these awesome treats. Then on Saturday I had a cupcake pop making party with Krissy and my mom. We had a blast making them, they were cute, and SO yummy!!

They are very easy to make, just really time consuming. I pre-made the cakes friday night and then we started makign the pops around 11, and finished around 2:00. That was with three people, one person rolling the balls, one/two people dipping, and one bagging.

Sweetly

Aunt Krissy brought over this Valentines gift for Aidan. His name is "Sweetly", and he is already a big hit with Aidan. He hugs him while he watches tv, he hugs him while running around the house, and he even brought Sweetly to bed with him tonight. Thanks Aunt Krissy!!!

Craig

This guy cracks me up! He is always coming up with wild and crazy ideas.

Practicing jumps in the backyard.

He made this snowfort.

And he "hangs" out in it.

He got this motor while on a job, and he plans to make a rope tow on the hill out back. We will have our very own ski mountain!

Lord help me when Aidan gets older. I have a feeling he is going to be as adventurous as his daddy.

Weekly Adventures

I usually plan out our weekly adventures on Sunday's. I grab the calender, and our trusty playgroup schedule, and go to work. We are pretty lucky that there is a lot going on around here so that we can keep busy daily. But, ever since Aidan got sick I have been slacking in this department. Now I can barely think of anything to do, maybe it's the fact that it it so bone chilling cold, I don't WANT to venture out? Maybe it's the fact that when Aidan was sick, he was taking a morning AND afternoon nap...and I still want him to continue doing that, so I can get lots done (and watch my DVR'd shows). Thursday I did want to get out and move (of course it happened to be one of the coldest days of the season) , so I googled playplaces, and found a local one. (If anyone is interested in the names of these places, let me know. I don't want to post the names of places we might go regularly)

We played in cars.

We played on this rocking bench.

We pushed around a grocery cart.

We played in a kitchenette.

I also found a flyer for two more play places in the area, and one for an indoor water park for us to check out too.

More Snow

Because of this....

We had no electricity for a couple of hours Tuesday night. I had just finished cooking dinner (thankfully!) and we lost power. We ate dinner by candle light, and brought out the games. TROUBLE is a favorite in this house.
Aidan wanted a better view, so he opted to watch on top of daddy's shoulders.

Gymnastics and a visit

The countdown begins...41 days until Florida! WOOT!!

Monday we headed to our favorite gymnastics place. Seriously, for $5 you can't beat it. (unless it was free..ha!) They set up mats and the kids go crazy. Aidan just runs around this place, climbing on everything.

After the gym we went to Aunt Nancy's house for a visit. She gave Aidan a cute card for Valentines Day, and socks for St. Pattys Day. She also gave him Brents old ski hat, which looked so cute on him. Thanks Aunt Nancy!

I was a good mom...until I had a kid

While I was pregnant with Aidan I read all the baby books. I was not going to be a mom that let her kid watch tv, oh no, not me. For awhile we did good. Aidan had little interest in tv, he'd rather run around, which is good. But sometimes when I want to get stuff done, like take a shower without a toddler trying to jump in fully clothed, I turned on the tv. That is until this wonderful, wonderful show was found.

I have to say I use it more than I should. My house has never been cleaner, but I feel guilty.

Aidans become a ZOMBIE!!haha...

Sledding!!

A few weekends ago, after a big snowstorm, Craig took Aidan sledding for the day.

Aidan got all bundled up in his awesome new snowsuit Mr & Mrs Donahue bought for him, and he was ready to go! (Although, he wasn't too pleased to be all bundled up)

Aidan test drove his sled he got from Santa, and he LOVED it.

Now if you are wondering what I did while the boys went out and had fun, I went to IKEA!! That store is just way too big for me, but I did have a nice afternoon with my mom, Krissy, Desiree, and Skye. And I brought home the cutest pots and pans set for Aidan. It was only $10! he loves to play with them.

All better...

Finally, things are back to normal around here. Aidan is back and crazier than ever. He LOVES to play with his Thomas the Train ride-on.
It was interesting because at his 15 month check up I expressed concern regarding Aidan not wanting to actually ride-on anything, just push it. I noticed many kids his age at various playgroup activites riding on a trike or whatever, and that Aidan would not get on anything. And if you put him on it, he would immediately climb off. But, She told me he is fine and would indeed ride on something sooner or later.
After we got home, Aidan was playing with his Thomas ride-on, and all of a sudden gets on it and starts moving backwards! I guess he showed me!!
